Photo Projects
For ten years, I worked as a travel writer and reporter. And I’ve always been fascinated by cities and urban landscapes: I lived some time in London, New York City and Berlin as well as in much smaller cities: in Kingston upon Hull, England, and Kalamazoo, Michigan. As a journalist, I reported from Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Lisbon, Warsaw, Szeged, St. Petersburg, New Delhi, Allahabad, Varanasi, Amritsar, and many more cities.
On my assignments, I was always accompanied by photographers. And I’m very thankful for the time they spent with me talking about photography – the craft and their understanding of what makes a perfect photo.
These are some of my own projects – far from finished and far from perfect ;-)
• In Hafencity and Sternschanze, I’m exploring two of my favorite quarters in Hamburg: an entirely new district built from scratch and an old workers’ quarter turned hipster area.
• With Museumsdorf, we’re jumping back in time and visit an old village from the 1900s.
• Cityscapes is a collection of double exposures, in which I combine elements from urban landscapes with nature.
